Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department of Corrections in Versailles, KY seeks an Administrative Specialist to support probation and parole operations by monitoring caseloads, entering and managing monthly KOMS reports, and performing record checks with accuracy.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of professional administrative experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; one year of professional, administrative, or business experience required.
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continued compliance with accreditation standards and correctional policies.
  • Enter fees payments and reporting notes in KOMS.
  • Review reports from courts and parole board.
  • Process required notifications to the courts, probation and parole officers and supervisors.
  • Assist with the daily correspondence received from KY field offices as well as the other 49 states and 3 territories.
  • Review new arrests.
  • Maintain all Policies and Procedures required for the KY Dept. Of Corrections.
  • Complete and maintain required training associated with job duties.
