Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking a Correctional Training Officer to provide specialized instruction for new and veteran staff at one of its correctional facilities. You will work under supervision to review training, identify budget needs, and implement programs for operations, support, and program staff, including support at the Correctional Training Institute.

The salary typically starts at $42,900 and may be commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate knowledge of Workforce Engagement Division and Administrative Procedures.
• Must apply Adult Learning principles in training delivery.
• Familiarity with correctional training, custody issues, and ACA standards.
• Ability to present and execute detailed lesson plans.
• Must complete Train the Trainer programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and assist in new employee, annual, and on-the-job training for all staff.
• Assist in development of training curricula to meet performance objectives.
• Test and evaluate trainee performance against established standards.
• Ensure training programs comply with standards and procedures.
• Maintain training records and prepare written reports.
