Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Substance Abuse Program Clinical Director in Phoenix, AZ to lead and coordinate a comprehensive treatment program for incarcerated individuals.

You will oversee program operations, ensure contractual and regulatory compliance, and supervise a team of clinicians and support staff. Qualifications include advanced degrees in a related field, Arizona licensure if possible, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice or related field.
• Must be licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor or Licensed Professional Counselor.
• Seven (7) years substance abuse counseling experience and program management preferred.
• Two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
• Preference given to experience in correctional settings.
• Knowledge of didactic, counseling, and treatment modalities.
• Commitment to ethics and professional conduct.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team and coordinate with staff.
• Proficient with computers and standard software.
• Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department operations, treatment service delivery, contract compliance, personnel actions, and training.
• Provide supervision, guidance and training to staff; conduct performance reviews and HR actions.
• Ensure compliance with company, state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
• Monitor operations and ensure contract, certification, and accreditation standards are met or exceeded.
• Maintain professional relationships with facility management, department heads and external customers.
• Generate reports to show program success to facility and contract managers.
• Review audits, conduct needs assessments, and propose actions to senior management.
• Participate in team staff meetings and approve departmental correspondence and schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
