Job summary

Required CA RN license, BLS, and at least one year of RN or correctional health care experience.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse by the State of California.
• One year experience as a Registered Nurse, OR one year of vocational nursing experience providing direct patient care in correctional health care setting.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card at time of hire; maintain competency.

Responsibilities

• Collects, interprets and documents data to determine risk factors for incarcerated patients.
• Records and reports assessment data and makes appropriate referrals.
• Communicates with physicians and allied health professionals to set care priorities.
• Implements therapeutic care for multisystem needs and complications.
• Performs intake, ongoing assessments and screenings.
• Administers and assists with monitoring medication programs as designated.
• Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA and regulations.
