Qualifications

• High school diploma and relevant experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience.
• Must complete eight weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
• Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and complete the basic supervisory course within six months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subordinate security assigned to housing units and inmate custody.
• Conduct routine inspections of living areas for security, safety, and sanitation.
• Conduct investigations of alleged misconduct by inmates and staff.
• Assist in conducting formal and informal counts.
• Supervise job performance, discipline, and training; prepare evaluations.
• Prepare reports as needed or required.
