The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction's Richmond Correctional Institution seeks a Corrections Sergeant II to supervise officers, assign shifts, and ensure officers are ready for posts within a medium custody facility. Reporting to a Correctional Lieutenant II, you will oversee time reports, rosters, leave schedules, and evaluations.
This is a full‑time position with rotating shifts and state benefits.

Reporting directly to the Correctional Lieutenant II, this position will provide supervision for subordinate officers regarding their assigned tasks with male offenders in a medium custody state corrections facility.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Knowledge of Facility Operations. Knowledge of Prisons' Policy and Procedures.
MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
This position is designated as "Mandatory" and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
This is a full-time position working rotating shifts with State Benefits.
The salary grade for this position is NC08. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
Richmond Correctional Institution is located in Hoffman, North Carolina and houses up to 420 male offenders in a medium custody facility.
