NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Sergeant II to supervise officers assigned to a medium custody state corrections facility housing male offenders. The role reports to a Correctional Lieutenant II and involves ensuring posts are staffed, equipment is ready, and administrative tasks are handled efficiently.
Minimum qualifications include eligibility for NC CJ Standards certification, background checks, drug screen, medical/psych evaluations, and a valid driver's license.

Salary Range: $39,244 - $68,679
MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
This position is designated as "Mandatory" and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
The salary grade for this position is NC08 . State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
