Job summary

Dakota County Sheriff’s Office is hiring Corrections Sergeants in Hastings, MN. The sergeants will supervise jail operations, oversee program and administration areas, and report to division captains.

Qualifications

• Requires leadership and supervision in a jail setting.
• Experience in corrections, jail operations, or similar detention role.
• Education plus experience alternatives meeting 6 years total and 2 years as a Correctional Deputy.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of jail staff and inmates as assigned.
• Coordinate scheduling and staffing within the division.
• Evaluate performance and provide coaching per policy; enforce rules and procedures.
• Lead jail operations in multiple sergeant assignments (Operations, Programs, Administration).
