Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Correctional Security Guard - Full Time in Charleston, SC to protect government facilities and staff.

In this unarmed patrol role you will conduct routine patrols, deter incidents, verify credentials, document interactions, and respond to alarms. A valid driver's license is required; shifts Tue-Wed-Thu 6:00 AM–6:00 PM; pay rate $17.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required in the job location.
• 1+ years of law enforcement experience OR 2+ years of security-related supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen as conditions of employment.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services to staff, visitors, and contractors at a government corrections location by following policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points and parking areas; report unusual conditions.
• Verify credentials and maintain visitor logs; control access to designated areas.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms and emergencies in a professional manner and notify site personnel.

Job Description

As a Correctional Security Guard - Full Time in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for staff and visitors. This driving post requires a valid driver's license. You will provide professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting while representing Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, care, and integrity.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

• Tue 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Wed 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Thur 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and other individuals at a government corrections location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas, reporting unusual conditions and policy violations.
• Monitor and control access to designated areas by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and following established entry and exit procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as directed.
• Complete accurate reports, activity logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess 1+ years of law enforcement experience OR 2+ years of security-related supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
