Job summary

Allied Universal in Greenville, SC is seeking a Correctional Security Guard - Unarmed to protect staff and visitors at a government location. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and respond calmly to incidents while maintaining professional communication with staff and supervisors.

This full-time role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws will be conducted.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Valid driver’s license required in the state where the job is located.
• Ages: 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and other authorized individuals by following site-specific procedures and access-control protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter to identify hazards and report policy violations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization, maintain logs, and report unauthorized access or suspicious behavior to supervisors.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner per established procedures.
• Prepare clear incident reports and daily activity documentation and communicate observations to supervisors.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Thur 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sat 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and/or other authorized individuals by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities within a correctional government location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazardous conditions, and policy violations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed, maintain required logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious behavior to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify facility personnel and emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and daily activity documentation, and communicate observations, concerns, and security-related information to supervisors and authorized staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
