Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Full-Time Day Shift Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intake Department in Jacksonville, FL to support incarcerated individuals at the Detention Facility.

As a Correctional RN, you will perform physical assessments, administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to emergencies, working with correctional staff in a controlled environment. New grads are encouraged to apply and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Florida RN license.
• Active BLS CPR (AHA) certification.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, safety standards, and applicable healthcare laws.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible schedule and overtime availability.
• Must pass facility background check and drug screening.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals.
• Monitor and document patient health including vital signs and medical histories.
• Provide direct patient care, triage, assess needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
• Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and arrange transport to facilities.
• Educate patients on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices.
