Job summary

CBH Medical is actively hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time work at Western Tidewater Regional Jail. Corrections experience is a plus and the role offers a stable schedule, strong benefits, and a unique clinical environment for professional growth.

The RN will assess patients, obtain histories, administer medications, develop treatment plans, and document care while coordinating with the care team and correctional staff.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in the state where duties are performed (Required).
• BLS/CPR Certification (Required).
• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program; BSN preferred but not required.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and provide written assessments upon admission, during confinement, and at discharge.
• Obtain health histories, summarize assessment data, and make triage decisions that are documented and communicated to the care team.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment programs utilizing approved protocols as directed by the Medical Director.
• Administer medications using proper techniques including IV therapy and all other approved routes; obtain diagnostic tests per physician orders.
• Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans as ordered and refer patients to appropriate providers as needed.
• Document all nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, correctional officers, and department heads.
• Provide leadership to nursing staff, identify problems, and recommend improvements in patient care, procedures, and equipment.
• Participate in quality assurance chart reviews, in-service education, and support all OSHA and employee safety programs.
• Perform within the limits of the state practice act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and all CBH Medical policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
