Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive medical care within a correctional facility.

You will assess and plan nursing care, administer medications, and collaborate with practitioners while documenting accurately and maintaining patient confidentiality. Requires active RN license in the state and BLS certification, with strong knowledge of RN scope of practice. On-site shifts and opportunities for professional development are available.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of service
• BLS certification; hands-on training
• Excellent documentation skills
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate
• Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site
• Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call
• Record care information concisely and timely in appropriate forms
• Collaborate and coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control precautions
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacology, including drug reactions
• Provide patient education on facility policies and discharge planning
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices
• May be directed to cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities
• May train new hires and coworkers
• Any and all other duties as assigned
