Job summary

TEEMA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care within a correctional facility in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. The RN will assess needs, administer medications, respond to emergencies, and support patient health and safety.

Candidates must hold an active RN license in good standing and a current CPR/BLS certification; previous correctional or emergency nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Previous correctional, emergency, medical-surgical, long‑term care, or behavioral health nursing experience preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment.
• Must be dependable, professional, and able to respond calmly in urgent situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting.
• Assess, triage, and respond to patient health concerns and medical requests.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and facility policies.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Monitor patients with acute, chronic, and ongoing medical needs.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
• Coordinate care with providers, mental health staff, custody staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assist with sick call, follow-up appointments, and ongoing patient care needs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and facility guidelines.
• Follow infection control, safety, and security procedures at all times.
