Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our correctional healthcare team in Jarratt, VA. The RN will assess patients, administer medications, monitor progress, document care, and collaborate with physicians to coordinate treatment in a secure facility.

Shifts are 12 hours, dayshift 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, with W2 compensation at $47.00 per hour. We offer competitive pay, benefits including health, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, a 401(k) plan, and travel

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted VA license/certification in good standing.
• Minimum of 1+ year within the last 3 years of recent experience as an RN.
• Copy of current PSV from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR records.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting safety and quality outcomes.
