Job summary

CorrHealth seeks a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care within a correctional facility in Colorado. The RN assesses inmates, plans and implements care, and collaborates with the health care team to maintain security and patient well-being.

The role requires administering medications, managing emergencies, documenting care, and educating inmates on health maintenance. CPR/BLS certification and a valid RN license are required.

Qualifications

• Must have degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the state board
• Current and unrestricted license as Registered Nurse
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• TB test within one year
• Willing to adhere to facility policies and HIPAA requirements

Responsibilities

• Assess health problems of inmates and initiate medical records
• Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications
• Prepare equipment, records, and rooms for examinations
• Maintain IV therapy equipment and IVs as needed
• Delegate assignments to lower level staff in absence of supervision
• Educate patients on diet, hygiene, and chronic disease prevention
