The State of Maryland seeks a Psychologist – Correctional Services at Patuxent Institution in Jessup, MD. This doctorate-level role provides direct psychological services to incarcerated individuals in a maximum-security setting, supporting remediation programs with evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities include risk/diagnostic assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and supervision of staff.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
• Two years of experience rendering psychological services or research.
• Licensure by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists is required.
• Military service substitutions may be applied year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk and diagnostic assessments as assigned.
• Provide direct psychotherapeutic services, including CBT, individual therapy, and crisis intervention.
• Engage in research activities and supervise unlicensed psychology staff.
• Provide administrative supervision of professional and clerical employees.
