Job summary

Los Angeles County Department of Health Services seeks an Emergency Psychiatric Social Worker II to support DOJ Consent Decree initiatives. The role is on-site in a designated correctional health facility and involves delivering social work services to justice-involved individuals.

You will conduct psychosocial assessments, develop and monitor treatment plans, provide psychotherapy, and coordinate care with psychology, psychiatry, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Active California LCSW license.
• Willingness to work in correctional health settings.
• Ability to provide psychotherapeutic services and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Interviews individuals and families to obtain history and social information.
• Assessments of functioning in environmental context; develop treatment plan.
• Provide psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and families; adjust goals as needed.
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques to prevent hospitalization during emergencies.
• Engage clients, families, and significant others to support treatment adherence and cooperation.
