Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited NP program.
• Active unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in state of practice.
• Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification required.
• Active DEA and Controlled Substance license required at start date.
• Active CPR certification required at start date.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
• Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications and monitoring therapeutic response.
• Ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting lab results as needed for ongoing treatment.
• Providing education and counseling to patients on mental health, medications, and wellness.
• Developing individualized treatment plans and ensuring continuity of care.
• Documenting all clinical activity using the SOAP format in the EMR system.
• Providing consultation and support to mental health and nursing personnel.
• Performing psychiatric evaluations, mental status exams, and participating in facility rounds.
• Participating in staff education, orientation, and in-service mental health training.
• Supporting crisis response efforts and guiding care interventions as clinically indicated.
