The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Corrections Programs Director I (NS) at Maury Correctional Institution to oversee offender programs and manage a broad scope of activities.
The role includes directing major programs such as offender classification, work release, education, counseling, and recreation; supervising staff, coordinating with custody teams, and responding in emergencies.

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions with the most qualified individuals. Bachelor’s degree in a human services or criminal justice field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in correctional programs management or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
