Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections invites physicians to join a statewide primary care program serving adults in custody. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a correctional health setting, collaborating with nurses, behavioral health clinicians, and other professionals to provide coordinated care.

Openings are available as part- or full-time positions across facilities statewide; compensation reflects verified experience, with extensive employee benefits and opportunities

Qualifications

• You must hold a current Physician's license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners.
• Board certification in internal or family medicine is preferred.
• Ability to practice in a correctional/underserved community health setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and develop treatment plans for adults in custody.
• Diagnose and manage acute, urgent, and chronic medical conditions.
• Collaborate with behavioral health, nursing staff, and leadership to ensure continuity of care.
• Document care using the electronic health record and participate in quality improvement activities.
