Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide inpatient and outpatient orthopedic services to inmate patients. You will perform evaluations, write progress notes, update plans of care, and manage discharges while collaborating with the PT team and medical staff to enhance patient outcomes.

This wage position limits work to up to 1,500 hours per year and does not provide state benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited Physical therapy Program.
• Current Physical Therapy license in Virginia.
• Experience evaluating and treating patients with various acute and chronic orthopedic dysfunctions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; collaborate with medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to inmate patients (outpatient orthopedics, SNF/rehab/acute care).
• Complete evaluations, progress notes, updated plans of care, and discharges.
• Collaborate with PT clinic team members and medical staff to improve patient care.
• Assist in Quality Improvement measures and data collection.
