Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York, P.C. (PAGNY) seeks a qualified Pharmacy Technician to support unit dose, carry and out-patient drug distribution for CHS in NYC jail facilities.

The role requires NY registration, PTCB certification, and strong knowledge of drug names and pharmacy operations. You will work under a pharmacist, ensuring accurate medication distribution, updating patient profiles, and maintaining stock and distribution records across Pyxis and clinic areas.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalency diploma.
• Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in NY.
• Completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician Training program or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• As of January 2012, all new hires or promotions must be certified pharmacy technicians by PTCB.
• Demonstrated pharmacy competence and independent decision making/problem solving abilities.
• Must have knowledge of brand/generic names and drug uses.

Responsibilities

• Distribute medication that has been checked and approved by the pharmacist to the correctly identified patient.
• Refer to the pharmacist or clinic any patient needing further information about medication.
• Maintain patient confidentiality of all pharmacy and clinical information.
