Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York, P.C. (PAGNY) seeks a NYS Registered Pharmacy Technician to support the Division of Correctional Health Services at NYC Health + Hospitals. The role involves pharmacy distribution, patient profiles, and dispensing tasks within a jail setting.

You will work with pharmacist oversight, handle unit-dose and carry system processes, and maintain accuracy in distributions related to methadone/DOT medications, ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• Must be a NYS Registered Pharmacy Technician.
• High School or equivalency diploma.
• Completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician Training program or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• As of January 2012, all new hires or promotions must be certified pharmacy technicians by PTCB.
• Demonstrated pharmacy competence and independent decision making abilities.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Able to use email, scanners, copiers and fax machines.
• Knowledge of brand/generic names and drug uses.

Responsibilities

• Distributes medication checked and approved by the pharmacist to patients.
• Maintains patient profiles in the pharmacy database.
• Operates Pyxis machines and restocks/labels stock.
• Prepares and labels discharge medications and DOT medications.
• Transports patient cassettes between clinic areas and other pharmacy sections.
