Job summary

State of North Carolina’s Department of Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Associate Warden of Operations for Carteret Correctional Center in Carteret County. Reporting to the Warden, this role oversees day-to-day operations and 24-hour facility functions, ensuring safety of staff and the public while managing key custody and housing operations for male offenders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year supervisory or admin experience in corrections or related work; or
• High school/GED and three years at or above Correctional Lieutenant level; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be eligible for certification by the NC CJET Standards Commission.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of housing for male offenders at a minimum custody facility.
• Direct collaboration with supervisors on prison policies.
• Provide direction and structure for Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, Officers and staff.
• Act as interim Warden during extended absence.
