Job summary

CoreCivic seeks a dedicated Correctional Officer to ensure the security and care of inmates in our facility. You will supervise housing units, meals, recreation, and other activities, maintaining order and safety at all times. Training is provided, and veterans are encouraged to apply.

The position may require working various posts, including armory, housing units, kitchen, medical, and visitation. A high school diploma or GED is required, and a valid driver’s license is needed to qualify for

Qualifications

• Have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Willing to work any shift and hours.
• Paid training provided where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates in the facility.
• Direct supervision of inmates in housing units, meals, recreation and other activities.
• Be prepared to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline when required.

The Correctional Officer provides for the security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments and during all other phases of activity in a correctional facility. You may have to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

• You are responsible for maintaining order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• You must be able to work any shift, as you may be assigned to a variety of posts including, but not limited to, armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.
• CoreCivic recognizes your military service to qualify you for positions requiring criminal justice experience.

You may be a fit for this role if you:

• Have a high school diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
• We train you to be successful: Paid training, and where applicable, be a non-commissioned security officer licensed by the state of employment (we pay the cost for you).
