Job summary

CoreCivic is hiring immediately for a Correctional Officer who will provide security, care and direct supervision of inmates in a secure facility. You may be required to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order, and veterans are encouraged to apply.

The role includes maintaining order, working across multiple posts, and leveraging prior military service to qualify for positions requiring experience in criminal justice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• We train you with paid training and, where applicable, a non-commissioned security officer license funded by the employer.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• Be able to work any shift and various posts (armory, housing, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.).
• Provide security, care and supervision of inmates/residents in housing units and during activities.

The Correctional Officer provides for the security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments and during all other phases of activity in a correctional facility. You may have to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

• You are responsible for maintaining order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• You must be able to work any shift, as you may be assigned to a variety of posts including, but not limited to, armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.
• CoreCivic recognizes your military service to qualify you for positions requiring criminal justice experience.
