Job summary

CoreCivic is hiring immediately for a Correctional Officer who provides security, care and direct supervision of inmates in housing units, meals, recreation and work assignments in a secure facility.

You may have to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order; veterans are encouraged to apply. Paid training is provided; a state license may be paid for you where applicable, and you must have a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Paid training provided; non-commissioned security officer license paid by company where applicable.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to complete required training.
• Available to work any hours, any shift.
• Minimum age 18.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• Work any shift across a variety of posts (armory, housing, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.).
• Military service is recognized for positions requiring criminal justice experience.

The Correctional Officer provides for the security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments and during all other phases of activity in a correctional facility. You may have to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• You must be able to work any shift, as you may be assigned to a variety of posts including, but not limited to, armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.
• CoreCivic recognizes your military service to qualify you for positions requiring criminal justice experience.
