Job summary

Milwaukee County's Community Reintegration Center is seeking a dedicated Correctional Officer in a full-time hourly role. You will monitor residents, supervise routines and meals, and manage safety within a direct supervision housing unit. You will write reports and use our software; training is provided.

Overtime is frequently required, including weekends and holidays. Candidates must pass background checks and obtain Jailor certification during probation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and legally eligible to work.
• High School Diploma, HSED or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required upon application.
• Good moral character, background check and fingerprinting.
• Law Enforcement Standards Board Jailor certification during probation.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and safeguard residents in direct supervision housing.
• Instruct and direct residents, ensure unit safety and assess behavior.
• Write reports and use agency software; training provided.
• Overtime is required, including weekends and holidays to meet staffing.
