Job summary

Justice & Public Safety Cabinet | Department of Corrections is seeking motivated individuals for the role of Correctional Officer at the Kentucky facility in Pewee Valley. The position involves ensuring safety and security, supervising inmate activities, and maintaining daily logs and reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintains control of the facility to ensure safety and security of inmates, staff and the public.
• Supervises inmate activities in housing units, dining areas, recreation and work spaces.
• Attends to medical, visitation, personal property, and recreational needs of inmates.
• Inspects and patrols grounds for contraband, unauthorized personnel and security risks.
• Completes required reports and daily logs.
• Conducts inmate counts, security rounds and searches.
