Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Citizen of the United States.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of basic recruit training for correctional officers and one year of experience as a certified officer with the State of Florida.
• Must not have had a suspension within the past 12 months.
• Must not have had an involuntary demotion within the past 24 months.
• Must not have a rating below 3.00 on the last 3 fiscal years' performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Correctional Officers and Sergeants on assigned posts and shifts.
• Serve as initial commander during emergencies and act as facility manager during non-administrative hours.
• Plan and coordinate post assignments, leave usage, and attendance reports; ensure proper security coverage.
• Conduct training and counseling; assign duties and review disciplinary actions per management.
