Special Hiring Rate applies to CVPF facilities with entry pay at $52,900.43 and $54,400.32 after six months; other facilities offer $47,900.32 at hire and $49,400.21 after six months.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of correctional security, treatment and support program operations.
• Knowledge of rules, regulations and state law.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Ability to follow written and oral direction within chain of command.
• Ability to interact positively with staff, inmates and the public.

Responsibilities

• Enforce rules and state law to maintain custody and public safety.
• Observe, supervise offenders and monitor behavior for safety.
• Conduct offender counts and transport as required.
• Operate security equipment as directed and be prepared for firearms training as needed.
• Prepare logs, reports and participate in meetings.
