Ramsey County Sheriff's Office is seeking an entry‑level Correctional Officer to supervise residents and maintain security at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center. This role progresses to Correctional Officer 2 with experience and training.

The position requires handling emergencies, performing searches, and enforcing rules while providing information on programs to residents. Shift work, overtime, and adherence to policies are essential for this role.

Qualificações

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2 years of general work experience or post‑high school education.
• Substitution: None
• Certifications/Licensure: None

Responsabilidades

• Oversee residents during assignments to ensure safety.
• Conduct security checks of buildings and grounds.
• Search residents and areas for contraband.
• Communicate rules and programs to residents.
• Enforce disciplinary practices and respond to violations.
• Intervene in emergencies and provide first aid.
• Administer lifesaving practices and medical orders when needed.
• Book, process, identify and release residents.
• Orientate new residents and issue clothing.
• Maintain attendance and work shifts.
• Overtime may be required.
• May cover laundry or kitchen duties.
• Lead facility operations in absence of supervisors.
• Monitor movement via central control area and gates.
