Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent required.
• Must complete pre-service correctional officer training and, where applicable, be licensed.
• Must be certified in the discipline of Corrections through the FDLE and in good standing.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Must be available to work any hours, any shift.
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• Possess the ability to work various posts including armory, housing units, kitchen, medical and visitation.
• May employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order.
