We’re hiring dedicated individuals to join our team as a Correctional Officer/Cook at Maine State Prison, Warren, ME. Through the Maine Model of Corrections, we are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for staff and residents. We believe that hiring compassionate and professional individuals is crucial to achieving this goal.
As a Correctional Officer - Cook, your responsibilities involve preparing and serving approximately 2200 meals per day, monitoring security, instructing residents in kitchen sanitation and food prep, and serving food. Exposure to chemical agents (OC Spray) is required.
Pay Grade: 16, $24.97 - $30.09 hourly, including a $1/hr institutional stipend.
No experience necessary; paid training with State Certification provided. Lateral credit considered for experienced Correctional Officers.
Work 7 out of 14 days per pay period, which adds up to half the year off! Our facility operates 24/7 with 12-hour shifts, including night and weekend shifts, with differentials and overtime pay. The schedule typically includes:
NO mandated overtime on scheduled days off unless in rare emergencies.
