Job Description

Join a dedicated healthcare team at one of the many correctional facilities in the state of Virginia, where your nursing skills can make a real difference. As a correctional nurse, you’ll provide essential care to a unique and underserved population in a secure, team-oriented environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to grow professionally while supporting the health and dignity of individuals in custody. Pay will vary depending on whether youare licensed as an RN or an LPN.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver both routine and emergency nursing care to incarcerated individuals
• Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, correctional officers, and administrators
• Conduct assessments, administer medications, and manage chronic and acute conditions
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold healthcare and facility protocols
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in crisis intervention as needed
• Educate patients on health maintenance and wellness
  
  

Qualifications

• Current RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia
• MUST have at least 1 year of correctional healthcare experience to be considered for this role
• Current and active BLS certification
• TB screening (PPD, chest x-ray, or questionnaire as applicable)
• Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Weekend availability is required
• Flexibility to travel or relocate for the duration of the assignment
