Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our medical team in Phoenix, Arizona, overseeing care for individuals incarcerated in the Arizona Department of Corrections.

Pay ranges from $65.00 to $71.00 per hour, with full-time and part-time positions possible. You will work with correctional officers and healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of medical conditions in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced nursing education (Master's or Doctorate).
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Unrestricted NP license in the state.
• Current DEA registration.
• Collaborative agreement with the on-site Physician.
• Active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA).
• Board certification by a recognized ABMS board.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience in correctional or acute care settings is a plus.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Confidentiality and professional conduct required.

Responsibilities

• Conducting physical examinations, developing treatment plans and monitoring patients
• Managing acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
• Administering medications and providing instructions to patients
• Monitoring and documenting patient health including vital signs, medical histories.
• Providing direct patient care, triaging, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and coordinating services.
• Responding to medical emergencies and ensuring timely transport
• Educating patients on preventative care and healthy lifestyles
• Maintaining accurate medical records and reporting information
• Conducting rounds and evaluating patients returning from off-site treatment
• Admitting and discharging patients
