Job summary
CorrHealth is seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to collaborate with a physician in a correctional facility. You will examine and treat illnesses, order labs, and coordinate with staff to implement care plans.
The role requires an unrestricted NP or PA license, a current DEA license, and at least one year of experience, preferably in a correctional setting. On-site work with weekly on-call duties is expected.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in state of employment.
- Current DEA license.
- One year experience; correctional/detention facility experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and authorities on medical needs of the site.
- Holds daily sick call, examines patients, and carries out treatments.
- Order labs, perform annual exams, and coordinate with nursing staff on treatment plans.
- Provide discharge planning and emergency care when needed.
- Document findings using SOAPE method and participate in QA activities.
