Job summary

NaphCare is hiring an experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at the Mendocino County Jail in Ukiah, CA. You will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide counseling and mental health care to inmates in residence.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with hourly pay ranging from $58.50 to $72.00. You will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, provide individual and group therapy, and coordinate care

Qualifications

• Master's prepared degree in counseling, social work, psychology or related field.
• Active, unrestricted licensure as a CA LCSW/LCMHC/LMFT/LMHP/LISW/LPCC, etc.
• Active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years' clinical mental health experience, correctional healthcare preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications, discharge planning, and social work principles.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat inmates with mental illness, substance use disorders and behavioral issues.
• Conduct mental health evaluations and gather psychosocial histories.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with various therapeutic approaches.
• Provide individual counseling and facilitate group therapy to address depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse.
• Manage caseloads, coordinate care, and ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to mental health crises and provide stabilization.
• Collaborate with inmates, correctional staff, and community resources for reentry plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with ACA/NCCHC standards and facility policies.
