Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology or related field.
• Two years of psychological/psychiatric intake and diagnostics experience.
• Licensed in Texas: Psychologist or LPC

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for inmates at high risk or in crisis, seven days a week.
• Collaborate with mental health, medical, and correctional staff to coordinate care.
• Use evidence-based tools to evaluate suicidal ideation and risk.
• Implement safety measures to prevent harm.
• Document mental health history, stressors, and protective factors.
• Provide coping skills and anger management education.
• Maintain confidential records of assessments and treatment plans.
• Stay current on trauma-informed care and crisis intervention best practices.
• Participate in case conceptualization with the crisis stabilization team.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and program requirements and promote internal controls.
• Identify process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction.
• Conduct Dangerousness Risk Assessments and substance abuse assessments.
