Job summary

Quality Correctional Care is seeking a Quality Medical Technician (QMT) for LaPorte County Jail. The role includes medication administration, vital signs, and supporting medical staff in emergencies. A CPR certification and 6 months of medical experience are required, with EMT/QMA/CMA certification preferred.

Physical stamina for long shifts and lifting up to 50 pounds is necessary. The position offers shift coverage from 6 PM to 6 AM, one shift per week, and a pay range of $23–$27 per hour,

Qualifications

• Active CPR certification required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in the medical field.
• EMT, QMA, or CMA certification highly preferred.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Medication administration
• Obtaining vital signs
• Assisting in sick calls using medical protocols
• Communicating with the facility or on-call Medical Provider
• Respond to medical emergencies
• Be capable of life-saving measures and provide direction in an emergency
• Collect laboratory specimens as needed
• Maintain accurate patient charts
