Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Bay Correctional Facility in Panama City, FL, and provides on-site medical services to inmates and staff. The role requires medical licensure, ongoing education, and sound clinical judgment to deliver timely diagnosis and treatment in a correctional setting.

Physicians will render clinical care, participate in after-hours coverage, and ensure HIPAA compliance while coordinating with corporate and facility policies.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree and Florida license required.
• Current DEA, ACLS and CPR certifications.
• Correctional setting experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete medical histories and physical examinations; interprets labs and imaging results; prescribes medications and renders treatments.
• Maintains and analyzes medical records; completes admission, progress and discharge notes; rounds on inmates in medical unit.
• Provides after-hours and weekend inmate care; participates in on-call rotation.
• Refer inmates for specialty consultations through approved processes.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect confidentiality of inmate medical records.
• Plan, implement and oversee clinical aspects of the program and supervise healthcare personnel.
• Prepare and submit reports for contractual compliance.
