Job summary

T. L. Johnson Agency LLC is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing services in Beaumont, TX, across clinic, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings for inmate health and safety.

Responsibilities include medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and discharge planning education. Requires TX LVN license and 1+ year Med-Surg/LTAC experience; IV therapy cert preferred. This is a contract position ending 12/25/2026.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
• Current license or permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
• 1 or more years of experience in medical-surgical or long-term acute care LTAC.
• IV Therapy certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing services, treatments, and diagnostic and preventive procedures appropriate for inmate care and safety.
• Interprets physicians’ orders and administers prescribed medication.
• Assists the physician with sick call when a physician is present; observes signs and symptoms during sick call when no physician is present.
• Applies surgical dressings and bandages and provides emergency first aid care.
• Checks and records vital signs.
• Instructs inmates concerning discharge planning and provides health care education to inmates.
• Reports reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in inmates’ emotional or physical condition.
• May instruct and supervise correctional staff concerning inmate health care and needs.
• Consults with the supervisor on problem cases.
• Checks and orders supplies and maintains accurate medical records.
