Job summary

Tljohnie in Texas seeks an LVN for correctional healthcare. Contract runs July 11, 2026 to Oct 9, 2026, at $39.00 per hour. Multiple shifts: 10 day shift and 8 night shift LVNs, rotating 4:3 schedule.

Provide nursing services, treatments, and diagnostic/preventive care for inmate patients; interpret orders, administer medications, monitor vitals, and maintain records in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in LTAC and Med-Surg.
• Active Texas LVN license.
• AHA BLS certification.
• IV Therapy Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physicians' orders and administer prescribed medication.
• Assist physician with sick calls and independently observe and assess signs/symptoms when physician is not present.
• Apply surgical dressings and bandages.
• Provide emergency first aid care.
• Check and record vital signs.
• Report reactions to treatments/medications and changes in patients' condition.
• Instruct inmates on discharge planning and health care education.
• May supervise and instruct correctional staff on inmate health care needs.
• Consult with supervisor on complex cases.
• Check and order medical supplies.
• Maintain accurate medical records.

Contract (36 hr/week) – July 11, 2026 to October 9, 2026. Pay: $39.00 per hour.

Position Summary

Provides nursing services, treatments, and diagnostic/preventive procedures for inmate patients within a correctional healthcare setting.

Qualifications

Experience – 1+ years in ALL of the following:

• Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC)
• Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg)

Licenses/Certifications – ALL of the following required:

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – active Texas license
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
• IV Therapy Certification

Education – Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program.

Schedule & Positions Available

• 10 Day Shift LVN positions (Full-Time)
• 8 Night Shift LVN positions (Full-Time)
• Rotating 4:3 schedule
• Days: 06:45 – 19:15
• Nights: 18:45 – 07:15

Key Responsibilities
