Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a full-time Day Shift Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Pueblo, Colorado, to join our team at the Pueblo County Detention Center. You will work alongside correctional staff to deliver comprehensive healthcare to inmates, including assessments, medication administration, chronic disease management, and emergency response.

New grads are encouraged to apply—we offer training in correctional healthcare.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
• Active state LVN/LPN license
• BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to facility policies
• Criminal background check and drug screening required

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and interview patients about health problems and medication history
• Take vital signs (BP, temperature, weight)
• Provide wound care and administer medications, including injections
• Maintain medical records in the electronic health record (TechCare)
• Observe patient health and mental status and provide emergency first aid
• Provide patient education and discharge planning
