• Manage the daily MD sick call list and specialty service schedules.
• Check state-issued email and route calls.
• Assist with incoming telephone calls and route appropriately.
• Respond to codes and complete required documentation.
• Ensure medication renewals are reviewed, ordered, and forwarded to the provider.
• Manage active medical devices and equipment.
• Administer first doses of new medications and place medications in med carts.
• Assist providers during treatments and minor surgical procedures.
• Support providers for higher-level care (ED evaluation, labs, EKG, etc.).
• Stock and maintain MD nurse room supplies, check expiration dates.
• Notify and educate inmates regarding medication or treatment changes.
• Collaborate on Chronic Care with providers and nursing supervisors.
• Serve as liaison between nursing staff and providers.
• Participate in routine nursing duties when no provider on-site.
• Complete pre- and post-counts for specialty clinics and autoclave tools.
• Communicate with OSS Coordinator and Infectious Disease Nurse for holistic care.
