Job summary

A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for a correctional facility. This is a full-time position paying $35.00 per hour, with weekly pay and 5x8 hour shifts from 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM; occasional weekend coverage is required.

Key duties include nursing care, implementing care plans, recording vital signs, administering medications, performing treatments, EKGs and screenings, infection control, and assisting inmates with daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Must hold active LPN license in good standing.
• Experience in ER, correctional, or psychiatric settings preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general nursing care and clinical duties per licensure and training.
• Implement nursing care plans as directed by a registered nurse or physician.
• Monitor and document vital signs, administer medications, and perform treatments.
• Assess inmate health needs through observation and report changes.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and document treatments.
• Carry out therapeutic treatments as ordered by medical providers.
• Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.
• Assist inmates with activities of daily living (hygiene, basic care).
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid/CPR as needed.
• Conduct procedures such as EKGs and vision screenings.
• Maintain and inventory medical supplies and equipment.
• Sterilize instruments using proper chemical and steam methods.

Pay Rate: $35.00 an hour paid weekly

Shift: 5x8 hour shifts per week - 2:45PM - 11:15PM (must be able to cover every other weekend)

Benefits: available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general nursing care and clinical duties in accordance with licensure and training
• Implement nursing care plans as directed by a Registered Nurse or Physician
• Monitor and record vital signs, administer medications, and perform treatments
• Assess inmate health needs through observation and report physical and emotional changes
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and document all treatments accurately
• Carry out therapeutic treatments as ordered by medical providers
• Adhere to all infection control and safety procedures
• Assist inmates with activities of daily living, including hygiene and basic care needs
• Respond to medical emergencies and administer first aid and CPR as needed
• Conduct medical procedures such as EKGs and vision screenings
• Maintain and inventory medical supplies and equipment
• Sterilize instruments using appropriate chemical and steam methods
• Assist in preparing reports for injuries, incidents, or sudden illnesses

Requirements:

• Licensed LPN
• 1 year of experience in ER, Correctional, or psych preferred, not required INDKS
