Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Corrections seeks a STG intelligence analyst with supervisory responsibilities in Columbia. You will work to gather, verify, and disseminate intelligence on gang activity, monitor STG populations, and coordinate with institutional committees while ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to procedures.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and three years in correctional, security, military, or police work with supervisory experience;

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a related bachelor's degree may substitute for the experience.
• Must have three years’ experience in correctional, security, military, or police work including one year of supervisory experience.
• SCDC Training Academy certification and basic supervisory course within six months of entry.

Responsibilities

• Disseminate intelligence info to supervisory staff.
• Surveil potential threat areas.
• Interview and verify photos taken of all new arrivals.
• Complete packets on inmates suspected of gang activity.
• Assist contraband staff searching cells of suspected gang members.
• Monitor inmate phone calls.
• Maintain records of confiscated items, including coded material.
• Supervise subordinates to ensure monitoring of individuals of concern and policy adherence.
• Coordinate with institutional STG committees.
• Gather STG-related evidence/intelligence.
• Monitor STG populations within institutions.
• Represent institution at STG designation hearings.
• Conduct inmate STG status evaluations.
• Assist with duties assigned by statewide STG coordination team.
