Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a permanent Correctional Industries Supervisor 2 (CIS2) for the Airway Heights Corrections Center Food Factory in Airway Heights, WA. The role oversees weekly production planning, forecasts raw material needs in Microsoft D365, and coordinates MRP activities to ensure timely material flow and customer demand satisfaction.

The CIS2 will supervise production staff, develop schedules to meet inventory targets, monitor progress, and drive process

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly production planning cycle for Food Manufacturing Group
• Update forecasting and reduction of raw materials in Microsoft D365
• Conduct Material Resource Planning (MRP) activities to include but not limited to, scheduling raw materials, food purchasing, movement, etc.
• Review factory schedule for adjustments
• Review and provide input on weekly production scheduling
• Provide manufacturing orders to food manufacturing group
• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands and inventory targets
• Monitor production progress and make adjustments as necessary to stay on schedule
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss production goals and strategies
• Assist with daily material transfer orders and weekly purchasing cycle for Food Manufacturing Group
• Manage inventory levels to minimize excess stock and reduce costs
• Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials
• Update weekly forecasting in Microsoft D365.
• Material resource planning activities for the Food Factory
• Review planning and adjust to changes
• Review and start orders (purchasing, production, transfer), maintaining accuracy and timeliness
• Assist in transfer orders to keep orders in real time
• Assist and supervising production
• Collaborate with team in supervising processes, adhering to procedures, ensuring a safe correctional and manufacturing environment
• Provide review and supervision of tool control and safe working practices
• Keep team informed of changes to plan
• Actively supervise and provide leadership to direct reports (documented monthly supervisory conference, leave supervision/approval and process adherence) communication of expectations and professional development.
• Analyze and monitor changes that can impact customer service regarding sales, purchasing, production and inventory movement and communicate with stakeholders to mitigate issues.

The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for a permanent Correctional Industries Supervisor 2 (CIS2) vacancy in our Food Factory Department. This position is located at Airway Heights Corrections Center in Airway Heights, Washington.

Correctional Industries (CI) is a unique blend of business and government, using private industry tools and techniques to provide a public service.
