Job summary

York County Sheriff’s Office, Detention Division is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced clinical care to inmates in the Detention Center. You will assess, diagnose, and treat conditions under established protocols and collaborate with staff to ensure continuum of care.

Requirements include a Master’s in Nursing and an active SC NP license; DEA registration is needed to prescribe controlled substances.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing required.
• Active South Carolina NP license required.
• Experience in correctional, emergency, or primary care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake health screenings and chronic care evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions among inmates.
• Prescribe medications per medical protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain confidential medical records and coordinate care with staff.
